ANNFSU condemns Nepal Student Union’s vandalism at Tribhuvan University

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) has strongly condemned the vandalism at the offices of Tribhuvan University Rector Khadga KC and the Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology, Shankar Khanal.

In a statement, ANNFSU Chair Samik Badal criticized the attack, which was allegedly carried out by a group including Nepal Student Union (NSU)-elected student representatives. He stated that such actions are an attack on the dignity of educational institutions and democratic values.

“Violence and vandalism can never be acceptable. Those involved must face legal action. I urge the NSU leadership to take organizational action against their members responsible for this act and to contribute to a fair environment for student elections,” Badal said.

The student wing of CPN-UML further emphasized that instability within educational institutions is unacceptable and called for healthy competition within democratic principles.

The incident occurred on Thursday, when NSU activists vandalized the offices of Dean Khanal and Rector KC, escalating tensions ahead of student union elections.
