RAUTAHAT: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has suggested that former King Gyanendra Shah form a political party and contest elections if he wishes to return to power. He firmly stated that the restoration of monarchy in Nepal is impossible.
Speaking to media persons during a meeting with industrialists and businessmen in Garuda, Rautahat, on Saturday morning, Dahal said history does not move backward. He asserted that Nepal’s constitution allows any individual, including the former king, to form a party and compete in elections rather than hoping for a return of the monarchy.
In a separate context, Dahal assured that he would make every possible effort to resume operations at Shree Ram Sugar Mill in Garuda, acknowledging its significance for local employment and economic development. He pledged to facilitate the mill’s reopening on behalf of his party.
Dahal and his team arrived in Rautahat on Friday evening as part of the Maoist Tarai-Madhesh Awakening Campaign.
As part of the campaign, Yubaraj Bhattarai ‘Samir’, a politburo member of the party and a Provincial Assembly member from Rautahat Constituency No. 4 (A), announced that Dahal would address a public gathering in Laukaha, Paroha Municipality, on Saturday afternoon.
