Nepali women’s football team rises to 99th in FIFA rankings



KATHMANDU: The Nepali women’s national football team has climbed four places in the latest FIFA rankings, moving from 103rd to 99th.

The ranking boost follows Nepal’s strong performance in the recent International Women’s Championship held in Kathmandu.

Nepal’s highest-ever FIFA ranking in women’s football was 91st, while their lowest was 119th.

At the top of the global rankings, the United States continues to hold the number one spot.

Among Nepal’s regional competitors, India is ranked 69th, while Myanmar, who defeated Nepal in the final of the International Women’s Championship, sits at 55th.
