Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu hosts 10th edition of Pakistan-Nepal Friendship T20 cricket tournament



KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the inaugural ceremony of the 10th Edition of Pakistan-Nepal Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2025 on Saturday.

On the occasion, Executive Board Member of the National Sports Council, Subarna Shrestha commended the Embassy’s initiative in successfully organizing the event each year.

She emphasized the role of sports, particularly cricket, in uniting the youth of both countries.

Similarly, Ambassador of Pakistan Abrar H. Hashmi, in his remarks, underscored that cricket is more than just a sport; it is a platform for bringing people together, fostering camaraderie, and promoting teamwork.

He extended his best wishes to the participating teams and expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests for their continued support.

Ambassador Hashmi also launched the Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council during the ceremony and welcomed the Pakistan Shooting Ball Team, congratulating them for their recent runner-up finish at the Asian Shooting Ball Championship held in Kathmandu.

This year, twelve club-level teams are participating in the nine-day tournament, which will conclude on February 16, 2025, with the final match and the trophy and awards distribution ceremony.

The event will be streamed live on Nepalese sports channel Action Sports and various social media platforms.
