Westerly winds affecting weather across Nepal



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently experiencing a general effect of westerly winds.

According to the Division, the weather is mostly clear across the country, with partly cloudy conditions in the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces. Mist and fog are also affecting some areas of the Terai.

This afternoon, weather in the hilly areas of Koshi Province will be partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with mostly clear skies elsewhere.

Light snowfall is possible in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised taking necessary precautions to mitigate the potential impacts of mist and fog in the Terai region in the morning, which could affect daily life, health, and both road and air transport.
