DP Aryal admits internal issues in RSP

CHITWAN: Acting Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dol Prasad Aryal (DP), has acknowledged internal problems within the party, saying that failing to establish his own organizational values has contributed to the challenges.

Aryal made the remarks on Friday while addressing the extended meeting of the party’s central committee in Sauraha, Chitwan. He admitted that the party has struggled to curb breaches of internal confidentiality and the growing controversies over the political conduct of its leaders.

Before presenting his political report, Aryal said that the party must work to establish a proper culture and organizational norms, which he had not been able to achieve so far. He also noted that the party has been unable to present a unified stance to its supporters and the public nationwide.

“By weakening RSP, we cannot become strong. We should not dig trenches and destroy our own backyard,” he said. Aryal also questioned the party’s ability to field winning candidates, acknowledging that the party may need to seek strong candidates outside its current leadership to succeed in elections.

He highlighted a tendency within RSP to undermine promising leaders, emphasizing that such behavior must be corrected. Aryal cautioned that the party risks being stuck in outdated practices rather than embracing innovative approaches.

“Leadership is recognized by vision and work ethic. If we fail to be vigilant, we may fall back into old patterns. Now we must ask ourselves whether we will reform or fail,” he said.
