Rurukshetra Rural Municipality urges residents to remove structures within road standards

GULMI: The Rurukshetra Rural Municipality, Gulmi has requested local residents to remove houses and structures built within the road boundaries to facilitate the smooth and timely upgrading of the Madan Bhandari Highway.

According to the municipality, the Madan Bhandari Highway Planning Office had earlier written to the local authority, urging it to ensure the timely removal of structures such as houses, shops, and other buildings that are obstructing the ongoing highway construction.

Acting on that directive, the rural municipality has issued a public notice requesting the removal of structures located within the road standards in several areas, including Ridi Bazaar in Rurukshetra Rural Municipality–1, the Panitanki area in Ward No. 3, and the Aampokhara and Baletksar Bazaar areas under Ward No. 4.

Chief Administrative Officer Laxman Pandey stated that residents have been urged to cooperate with the ongoing works, noting that any delay in clearing the obstructions could hinder construction progress and postpone the distribution of compensation.

According to Humanath Poudel, Information Officer and Engineer at the Madan Bhandari Highway Planning Office, Gulmi, the blacktopping of the 25-kilometer road section from Ridi in Rurukshetra Rural Municipality to Runkhadaha in Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality is expected to be completed by March 2026.
