KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Afghanistan today in the Hong Kong Super Sixes cricket tournament, which kicks off at 8:45 a.m. (local time) on Friday at the Mission Road Ground in Hong Kong.
Nepal has announced its squad for the high-paced six-over format under the captaincy of experienced batsman Sharad Vesawkar.
The format, known for its explosive batting and fast-paced action, features six players per side and matches lasting six overs each.
Nepal’s squad includes Sandeep Jora, Lokesh Bam, Mohammad Adil Alam, Bashir Ahmed, Rupesh Singh, and Rashid Khan, alongside captain Vesawkar.
A total of 12 nations are participating in the event, divided into four groups. Nepal has been placed in Group A alongside South Africa and Afghanistan.
Group B features Australia, England, and the UAE, Group C includes India, Pakistan, and Kuwait, while Group D comprises Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and hosts Hong Kong.
