Pregnant woman and newborn rescued by Army helicopter in Bhojpur

BHOJPUR: A pregnant woman and her newborn baby were rescued today from Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality-4 in Bhojpur by a Nepali Army helicopter.

The woman, 39-year-old Nirmala Rai, and her premature baby were airlifted to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, Sunsari, for further treatment.

According to Sangita Rai, a health worker at the Okre Health Post, the baby was born prematurely at the local health facility and required urgent medical care, including oxygen support.

The rescue was carried out under the government’s air rescue program, as road access was blocked, making immediate ground transport impossible.
