KATHMANDU: The Nepali women’s national cricket team will face Malaysia today in the fourth match of the ongoing five-match international T20 series.
Malaysia currently leads the series 2-1, putting Nepal under pressure to secure a win in today’s match to keep the series alive. A victory for Malaysia would give them an unassailable 3-1 lead and seal the series with one match remaining.
Nepal’s campaign began with a narrow three-run loss in the first match. Chasing a target of 105 runs, Nepal finished on 101/5 in 20 overs.
In the second match, Nepal bounced back strongly. After restricting Malaysia to 91 runs, Nepal chased the target comfortably, scoring 93/4 in 16.2 overs to level the series 1-1.
However, in the third match, Malaysia set a target of 121 runs. Despite a determined effort, Nepal managed only 107/8 in 20 overs, falling short by 13 runs.
The fifth and final match of the series is scheduled for October 8. The Nepali side, led by captain Indu Barma, will be aiming to level the series with a win today and set up a decisive final game.
