UML changes color of sickle and hammer on party flag

LALITPUR: The CPN-UML has changed the color of the sickle and hammer on its party flag through its second statute convention.

For the first time in the party’s 75-year history, the emblem, traditionally white, in line with global communist parties, will now appear in golden color against a red background.

The convention also unanimously endorsed Chair KP Sharma Oli’s political document, Vice Chair Bishnu Paudel’s statute amendment proposal, and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel’s organizational report.

In addition, Dr. Bijay Subba was re-elected as chief of the central election commission, with Sanu Raja Pokharel as vice chair and Kunsang Lama as secretary, all elected unopposed.
