CPN-UML Statute Convention to conclude today

Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli to respond to issues raised during group discussions



LALITPUR: The second Statute Convention of the CPN-UML is concluding today, with Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli scheduled to respond to issues raised during group discussions.

According to UML Publicity Department Chief Prithvi Subba Gurung, group leaders will present suggestions collected during discussions on the seven reports submitted to the convention.

Leaders from Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with representatives from the Valley Special Province, public organizations, liaison committees, migration groups, central departments, and other party bodies, will put forward their feedback.

Following the presentations, Chairman Oli will address the concerns and recommendations. If consensus cannot be reached on any issue, Gautam said, the meeting will conclude by voting to finalize the party statute.

Today’s agenda also includes passing contemporary resolutions and electing the Central Election Commission.

On Saturday, discussions were held in 10 groups on Oli’s political report, Vice Chair Bishnu Paudel’s proposed statute amendment, and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel’s organizational proposal, along with the seven resolutions presented since the convention began on Friday in Godavari, Lalitpur.

A total of 2,341 participants, including 2,260 delegates from across the country and 315 representatives from the organizers, are attending the convention.
