Heavy rainfall expected in Koshi and Karnali today



KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi and Karnali provinces today, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Moderate rain is also expected in some parts of the hilly regions and at a few locations in the rest of the country.

The weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies, it said. Meanwhile, light drizzle is currently occurring in some parts of Kathmandu, with the monsoon low-pressure system active over both the eastern and western regions of Nepal.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in the hilly regions across the country. Moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Koshi Province and the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

A few areas in both the hilly and Tarai regions of other provinces may also experience rainfall. The Division has also warned of the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in the Tarai region of Koshi Province.
