NRB updates today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the exchange rates for foreign currencies for today (Thursday).

The value of several foreign currencies, including the US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar, has slightly decreased. The US dollar, which had maintained a record-high rate in recent days, has seen a minor decline today. In contrast, the value of currencies such as the Australian dollar, euro, and British pound has increased.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for 1 US dollar today is NPR 140.08, while the selling rate stands at NPR 140.68. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 140.19, and the selling rate was NPR 140.79, which was the highest ever recorded.

Today, the buying rate for 1 euro is NPR 162.66 and the selling rate is NPR 163.36. This is an increase from yesterday’s buying and selling rates of NPR 161.84 and NPR 162.53, respectively.

Similarly, the pound sterling has also appreciated, with today’s buying rate at NPR 186.71 and the selling rate at NPR 187.51. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 186.14 and NPR 186.93.

The Australian dollar has also gained value, with the buying rate at NPR 91.14 and the selling rate at NPR 91.53. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 90.55 and the selling rate was NPR 90.94.

In contrast, the Kuwaiti dinar has slightly decreased, with today’s buying rate at NPR 458.29 and selling rate at NPR 460.25, compared to yesterday’s NPR 458.45 and NPR 460.41.

The Bahraini dinar has also dipped slightly, with today’s buying rate at NPR 371.56 and selling rate at NPR 373.15. Yesterday, the rates were NPR 371.84 and NPR 373.43.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to revision as needed. It also noted that the rates offered by commercial banks may vary, and the most up-to-date exchange rates can be found on the central bank’s official website.
