62-year-old man arrested for alleged rape of 23-year-old woman



PALPA: Police have arrested a 62-year-old man in Palpa district on charges of raping a 23-year-old woman.

The suspect, identified as Tara Bahadur Karki of Telgha, Tansen Municipality-10, was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, according to the District Police Office, Palpa.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Malla, who also serves as the Information Officer for the Palpa District Police Office, stated that the incident reportedly took place on Friday.

Karki was arrested on Sunday from Laherapipal, located in Tansen Municipality-4.

Following his arrest, the District Court, Palpa, has remanded Karki in custody for five days as police continue their investigation into the case.
