Prime Minister wishes for Bakr Eid to inspire a prosperous society

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Bakr Eid.

Through a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to everyone both in Nepal and abroad on this sacred festival of Eid-ul-Adha.

In his message, PM Oli said, “In our multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multicultural country, may this festival strengthen mutual harmony, social unity, and national solidarity. May Bakr Eid inspire us to build a just, tolerant, and prosperous society.”

He further wished, “Eid Mubarak! Today, the second major festival of the Muslim community, Bakr Eid (Eid-ul-Adha), is being celebrated across mosques throughout the country.”

Bakr Eid is traditionally observed on the 70th day of Ramadan, known as Eid-ul-Fitr. On this day, Muslims take a ritual bath early in the morning and proceed to nearby mosques or Eidgahs to offer congregational prayers. After the prayers, people exchange greetings and well wishes, fostering a spirit of goodwill and togetherness.

Prime Minister Oli expressed hope that the Bakr Eid festival would further reinforce national unity and social harmony among all communities in Nepal.
