4 Nepalis from the same family found dead in Virginia, USA



KATHMANDU; Four members of a Nepali family have been found dead from gunshot wounds in Virginia, United States.

According to Manassas Park Police, the victims were living in the basement of a residence and were discovered following a welfare check requested by the homeowner.

The incident came to light around 10:40 p.m. local time on Thursday, when the landlord contacted the police to check on the condition of the family living downstairs.

Upon arrival, officers found four individuals deceased in the basement apartment, according to a press release issued by the police.

The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Santosh Pariyar, 36-year-old Anju Shrestha, a 2-year-old boy, and an 8-year-old girl.

Preliminary investigations suggest all four died from gunshot wounds. Police also recovered firearms at the scene.

An investigation is currently underway. Further details have yet to be released.
