Indian airlines issue travel advisories, cancel several flights after airstrikes

NEW DELHI: Several Indian airlines have issued travel advisories and canceled multiple flights following the launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’ by the Indian government.

The operation has led to temporary airspace disruptions in parts of northern India, affecting domestic and international air travel.

Air India, SpiceJet, and IndiGo have urged passengers to exercise caution and check flight statuses before heading to the airport.

Air India announced on social media that all flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot have been canceled until 12 noon on May 7. Additionally, two international flights bound for Amritsar have been rerouted to Delhi.

SpiceJet has also confirmed the closure of several northern airports—including Dharamsala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar—until further notice.

IndiGo similarly reported disruptions to flights serving Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, and Dharamsala.
