NEPSE index falls 0.42%, closes at 2,699.81 on Thursday
The NEPSE Index on Thursday dropped by 0.42%, losing 11.64 points to close at 2,699.81, after a slight dip of 4.45 points in the previous session.
The index opened at 2,713.88 and experienced fluctuations throughout the day, reaching a peak of 2,720.48 and a low of 2,691.56.
The total turnover amounted to Rs. 9.24 billion, with 18,680,392 shares traded across 315 companies through 92,326 transactions. Sahas Urja led the turnover.
Gold price increases by Rs 1,600 per tola on Thursday
The price of gold, which rose by Rs 2,200 per tola on Wednesday, saw another significant increase on Thursday.
The price went up by Rs 1,600 per tola on Thursday, while silver also became more expensive.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Federation, the price of gold reached Rs 168,500 per tola on Thursday. On Wednesday, the price was Rs 166,900 per tola.
IGI Prudential Insurance proposes 9.73% cash dividend
IGI Prudential Insurance has recommended a 9.73% cash dividend for the fiscal year 2080/81, totaling Rs. 29.19 crores.
During the 27th board meeting held on Magh 23, it was decided to distribute this dividend, which includes tax.
The company’s paid-up capital stands at Rs. 3.02 billion. The proposed dividend is pending approval from the Nepal Insurance Authority and the forthcoming AGM.
Bamboo Conference from March 27
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has highlighted the potential of bamboo in promoting a green economy and creating an environmentally friendly atmosphere.
The central bank’s governor stressed the need of a green economy for sustainable economic growth.
He stated that the decision to host the conference in Diktel, rather than in an urban centre, presents a challenge to urban-centric events and encourages a broader, more inclusive perspective.
