13 injured in Nepal following Tibet earthquake



KATHMANDU: A total of 13 people have been injured across various districts in Nepal due to an earthquake with its epicenter in Shigatse, Tibet, according to data released by Nepal Police.

Among the injured, 11 were reported in Bara district, while Kathmandu and Kavre districts each recorded one injury.

The quake also caused damage to houses in multiple districts.

In Okhaldhunga, three houses were affected—two sustained minor damage, and one was completely destroyed.

In Solukhumbu, five houses were damaged, with one suffering partial damage, another completely destroyed, and three with minor damage.

Other districts also reported minor damage to homes: one in Sankhuwasabha, three in Taplejung, one in Sindhupalchowk, and one in Ramechhap.

Authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage and providing necessary support to the affected areas.

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Dingri County in the city of Xigaze in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region on Tuesday morning. A total of 95 people have been confirmed dead and 130 others injured so far.
