President Paudel’s Qatar visit deemed productive



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has returned home after attending the Second World Summit on Social Development held in Doha, Qatar.

Briefing the media at Tribhuvan International Airport, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai described the visit as productive and successful, highlighting that it strengthened Nepal’s presence on the international stage.

Rai said the visit also helped amplify the voice of developing countries like Nepal in favor of equitable and sustainable development.

Addressing the main session of the summit, President Paudel reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to social justice, inclusion, and sustainable development. He called for greater global cooperation to ensure quality education, universal healthcare, and the empowerment of women and youth.

Invited by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, President Paudel attended the summit from November 4 to 6. During his remarks, he emphasized that inclusion and shared prosperity form the foundation of lasting peace, progress, and human dignity, urging for equitable access to resources and effective implementation of the Doha Declaration through international collaboration.
