Biplav: Gen-Z movement has jolted an authoritarian and foolish state

KATHMANDU:  Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, said that a fair election is possible only after banning activities that spread tension in the country and are fueled by foreign dollars.

Speaking at a mass gathering in Kathmandu on Thursday, Biplav accused some forces of using foreign money to corrupt the Nepali people and create instability. He added that federalism cannot be fully implemented until all sections and classes of people receive equal priority.

Biplav argued that since the people themselves formed the state, Nepal should move toward a directly elected executive system. He said that unity among communists does not always guarantee positive results, warning that unity without ideological clarity could be dangerous.

Admitting that the Socialist Front has failed to stand against the growing disorder in the country, Biplav remarked that the Gen-Z movement has done a great favor by shaking up what he described as an increasingly authoritarian and foolish state.

Earlier, rallies organized by the Nepal Communist Party from different parts of the city converged at Bhrikutimandap, where the mass meeting was held.
