NEPSE drops by 11.29 points to close at 2,596 as turnover rises above Rs 5 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 11.29 points on Thursday, closing at 2,596,12 points.

The turnover rose to Rs 5.41 billion, up from Rs 4.68 billion on Wednesday.

According to NEPSE, the prices of 77 companies rose, while 165 declined and 9 remained unchanged.

All sectoral indices except for manufacturing and processing saw losses, though most fluctuations stayed below 1 percent. The banking sector dropped by 0.43 percent, development banks by 0.54 percent, finance by 0.17 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.25 percent, hydropower by 0.68 percent, investment by 0.11 percent, life insurance by 0.57 percent, microfinance by 0.13 percent, non-life insurance by 0.99 percent, others by 0.62 percent, and trading by 0.21 percent.
