Hetauda–Kathmandu roads reopened after landslide clearance

MAKWANPUR: Two major roads connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu have reopened this morning following continuous rainfall that had previously blocked them.

According to Inspector Thakur Sapkota of Makwanpur District Police Office, the Hetauda–Kulekhani–Phakhel–Farping road section and the Hetauda–Palung–Naubise road section are now operational after clearing landslides.

However, the Bhimfedi–Kulekhani–Sisneri road and the Kanti lokpath remain closed. Sapkota explained that in the Bhimfedi–Kulekhani–Sisneri section, part of the road was washed away by the Dodhare Khola river and a landslide near the Dakshinkali Temple is preventing traffic. Repair and landslide clearance work is ongoing.

Similarly, on the Kanti lokpath, a landslide at Baguwa Khola damaged part of the road. Authorities are currently clearing debris and carrying out reconstruction efforts to restore normal traffic.
