Army airlifts 4 landslide victims from Ilam



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army has airlifted four people, including a young girl, who were injured in a landslide in Ilam, to Jhapa for further medical treatment.

According to the Army’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the victims, three women and one man, were injured in a landslide triggered by continuous rainfall at Maabu in Sandakpur Rural Municipality-4, Ilam. They were initially provided first aid at a local health post before being flown to a hospital in Jhapa by an army helicopter.

Meanwhile, in Jhapa’s Milanbasti area, security personnel, including the Nepali Army, rescued 91 people stranded by floods on Sunday night. Of them, 48 were rescued by motorboat, 31 by smaller boats, and 12 on foot, and all have been moved to a safer location, according to the Army.
