Narayangadh–Muglin road reopens after two days of disruption

CHITWAN: The Narayangadh–Muglin road section, which had been blocked at several points due to continuous rainfall over the past two days, has reopened for traffic since early Monday morning.

According to the Road Division Office, Chitwan, the section became fully operational from 6 a.m. Monday. Officials, however, have urged motorists to travel with caution, as the risk of landslides remains high despite an improvement in weather conditions.

With the resumption of service, traffic has returned to normal along both the Narayangadh–Muglin and Prithvi highways.

“The Narayangadh–Muglin section has been cleared and is open for operation since 6 a.m. We sincerely request all passengers to travel safely, as there is still a risk of landslides along the route,” the division’s notice stated.

Authorities had suspended public and private vehicle movement along the route from 9 p.m. Sunday, citing the high risk of landslides following heavy rainfall on Friday and Saturday.

According to Superintendent of Police Govinda Puri, Chief of the Chitwan District Police Office, vehicles that had been stranded at various rest points have now resumed their journeys.

Traffic had been halted at 14 locations across the district, where both long- and short-distance vehicles were temporarily stationed before heading toward their destinations this morning.
