Ministers Ghising and Aryal to visit landslide-hit Ilam today

KATHMANDU: Ministers Kulman Ghising and Om Prakash Aryal are scheduled to visit Ilam today to inspect areas affected by recent landslides, weather permitting.

According to officials, the plan is to fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, Jhapa, on a regular flight and then travel to Ilam by helicopter.

Ilam has been severely affected by heavy rainfall on October 4, which triggered deadly landslides, leaving at least 37 people dead and many others injured or missing.

Highways, bridges, hydropower projects, and other physical infrastructure have also suffered significant damage.
