UML’s second statute convention discusses reports in group sessions

LALITPUR: The CPN-UML’s second statute convention, currently underway at Sunrise Hall in Godawari, Lalitpur, is holding group discussions on the reports submitted for the event.

According to Rajendra Gautam, head of the party’s publicity department, delegates have been divided into ten groups based on province, the Kathmandu Valley, and central structures. He said the Koshi Province group has already completed its discussions and begun drafting its report.

Delegates from Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are conducting separate group discussions on the reports. Similarly, representatives from the Valley Special Province, various mass organizations, coordination committees, the diaspora, central bodies, and departmental structures are also participating in deliberations.

Gautam said that after today’s discussions, group leaders will present their reports tomorrow. Suggestions arising from these discussions will be addressed by Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli. Issues lacking consensus will be decided through voting, ensuring a unified party statute.

He added that the convention is expected to conclude tomorrow after passing contemporary proposals.
