Oli says accident used as pretext to disrupt UML statute convention

LALITPUR: The second day of the CPN-UML’s statute convention began an hour late after a vehicle carrying delegates hit a young girl at Harisiddhi intersection, blocking the road.

Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said the girl was immediately taken to hospital for treatment, with all medical expenses to be covered by the party. He wished her a speedy recovery.

Oli expressed sorrow over the incident but stressed it was an accident, cautioning against attempts to politicize the matter to disrupt the convention.

“An unfortunate incident occurred when a child was hit by a vehicle. She has been taken to hospital, and the party will bear all treatment costs. There was no ill intention. Sometimes such incidents happen unexpectedly, but some are trying to use it as a pretext to disturb the convention,” Oli said.
