Four parliamentary committees meeting today



KATHMANDU: Four committees under Nepal’s Federal Parliament are holding meetings today in Singha Durbar to deliberate on various legislative and policy agendas.

The International Relations and Tourism Committee is scheduled to meet at 10 AM. The committee will hold a discussion on the current state, progress, and challenges of the Lumbini Development Trust, the body responsible for preserving and promoting Lumbini as a significant religious and cultural heritage site.

At 11 AM, the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will convene to conduct a clause-wise discussion on the Land (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The proposed bill aims to revise several provisions related to land laws in Nepal.

The Legislation Management Committee is also meeting at 11 AM. The committee will focus on the draft report of the Water Resources Bill, 2024, which seeks to reform the legal framework governing water resources in the country.

Meanwhile, the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will meet at 1 PM. The agenda includes a discussion on reports concerning national parks, with particular attention to conservation policies and the implementation of delegated legislation in protected areas.
