Govt seeks clarification from Kulman Ghising again

KATHMANDU: The government has once again decided to seek an explanation from Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising regarding his tenure and performance.

During a Cabinet meeting held in Baluwatar on Wednesday evening, ministers resolved to issue a three-day deadline for Ghising to submit his clarification.

This comes after an earlier inquiry by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, which had formally questioned why Ghising should not be removed from his position.

The government’s decision has sparked speculation about potential shifts in leadership at the NEA, an institution that has played a crucial role in Nepal’s energy sector under Ghising’s leadership.

Further developments are expected once Ghising submits his response within the stipulated timeframe.
