Maoist Centre central committee meeting continues today

KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) will continue today at a banquet in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu.

Vice-Chair and spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota stated that central members will begin sharing their opinions starting today.

On the first day of the meeting, Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ presented an organizational and political report titled “Commitment to Party Transformation and Reconstruction: Today’s Need”

In the report, Dahal emphasized prioritizing broader leftist unity as a key strategic objective.

Dahal proposed launching a Tarai-Madhesh Awakening Campaign from February 14, which will run for one month. Additionally, he suggested organizing another one-month campaign based on the Postal Highway to strengthen the party’s outreach in the region.

During his address, Dahal expressed concerns over the large size of the Maoist Centre’s Central Committee, indicating a need for structural reforms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The meeting is expected to continue deliberations on these proposals and other organizational strategies in the coming days.
