Hetauda Road Division to begin clearing encroachments along major highways from Dec 6

HETAUDA: The Hetauda Road Division has announced that it will begin road protection and clearance work along key highway sections in Hetauda from December 6.

Issuing a notice on Friday, the division said it will start clearing encroachments along the Mahendra Highway, from Ratomate (Hetauda-15) through Buddhachowk up to Rapti Bridge, and along the Tribhuvan Highway from Buddhachowk to Samari Bridge.

The division had already published a notice in Gorkhapatra on November 21, informing the public about the need to vacate road boundaries. It has now moved forward with formally commencing the road protection drive.

Hotels and lodges operating within the road boundary have been asked not to admit new guests starting today. The division has also sent a letter to the Hetauda Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association, requesting that it relay the information to all businesses in the area.

According to the division, clearing the road boundary is necessary for the sustainable protection of the highways and for appropriate management of roadside infrastructure.

The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, has also been informed and requested to coordinate for the enforcement of the clearance operation.
