Rabi Lamichhane brought to Singha Durbar for inquiry

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has been brought from Nakhu Prison to Singha Durbar.

A high-level investigation commission summoned him to take his statement at the commission’s office in Singha Durbar regarding his release from prison during the Gen-Z movement.

The Commission summoned Lamichhane to its office in Singha Durbar to record his statement regarding his release from prison during the Gen-Z movement on September 8-9. Lamichhane is currently being held at Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur on charges of cooperative fraud.

The High-Level Inquiry Commission, led by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, was formed by the government to investigate the incidents that occurred during the Gen-Z movement.

According to the commission, it plans to record statements related to the events at Nakkhu Prison on September 9, when Lamichhane reportedly left the prison after receiving a letter stating that the facility could not ensure his security.

In addition to Lamichhane, the commission is also preparing to record statements from his wife Nikita Poudel and acting RSP President DP Aryal.
