Fugitive in fake Bhutanese refugee case arrested



KATHMANDU: Sandesh Sharma, a fugitive defendant in the fake Bhutanese refugee case, has been arrested by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Originally from Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-16 in Dang, Sharma was apprehended in Lalitpur and has been sent back to prison, according to Superintendent of Police Kaji Kumar Acharya, spokesperson for the Crime Investigation Office.

Sharma had escaped from Nakkhu Prison during the jailbreak that occurred amid the Gen-Z movement on September 8–9 and had been on the run since.
