Nepal Airlines Bhairahawa flight rescheduled to 1 PM on Monday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has rescheduled its Bhairahawa flight, which will now operate at 1 PM on Monday, October 6.

Following road blockages caused by landslides during the Dashain holidays, the government had instructed the national flag carrier to operate special flights to rescue passengers stranded in Bhairahawa.

However, due to operational constraints—primarily the grounding of two aircraft—the flight can only be conducted in the early afternoon.

“The Kathmandu-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu flight will be operated by a narrow-body aircraft, departing Kathmandu at 1 PM,” said Subash Dangi, spokesperson for Nepal Airlines Corporation. The flight had originally been approved to operate on Sunday, but the schedule was revised due to logistical issues.

Reports of stranded passengers had reached the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, prompting Prime Minister Sushila Karki to instruct the Chief Secretary to initiate immediate rescue measures. In response, the Chief Secretary coordinated efforts through the local district administration.

The District Administration Office has urged affected individuals to visit the Nepal Airlines counter at Bhairahawa Airport to share their concerns and arrange travel.

Passengers are also advised to contact Arun Panthi (9857023671), a Nepal Airlines staff member based in Bhairahawa, for assistance regarding ticketing and inquiries.
