KATHMANDU: Nepal suffered a 13-run defeat against Malaysia in the third match of the Women’s T20 International Series held in Kuala Lumpur today.
With this loss, Malaysia has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Earlier, Nepal lost the first match by three runs but bounced back to win the second match by six wickets.
In today’s game, chasing a target of 121 runs set by Malaysia, Nepal was restricted to 107 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Rubi Poddar top-scored for Nepal with 31 runs, followed by captain Indu Barma with an unbeaten 22, and Samjhana Khadka who contributed 18 runs. On the bowling side, Kabita Joshi and Kabita Kunwar took two wickets each for Nepal.
