Three of four missing in Rasuwa are from the same family



BHAKTAPUR: Of the four individuals who went missing after being swept away by a stream in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4, Rasuwa, three are from the same family.

The incident occurred on Saturday while the group was en route to Langtang when a local stream suddenly swept them away.

The missing individuals have been identified as Rabi Shrestha (23) of Bhaktapur Municipality-10, and Sanskriti Shrestha (23), Kishan Shrestha (21), and Sanita Shrestha (26) of Suryabinayak Municipality-4. According to Lachchhu Ram Neupane, Chairperson of Suryabinayak-4, Sanskriti, Kishan, and Sanita are members of the same family, originally from Ramechhap and now residing in Dadhikot. All four remain missing as of this morning.

Police Inspector Raju Shah, Information Officer at the District Police Office in Rasuwa, said that search and rescue efforts are ongoing. Security personnel from the Nepal Police and Nepali Army have been mobilized up to the Nuwakot border, and assistance from Nuwakot police has also been requested to aid in the search operation.
