Landslide obstructs Mid-Hill Highway in Baglung

BAGLUNG: A landslide has blocked the Mid-Hill Highway in Kathekhola Rural Municipality-6, disrupting traffic since Monday night.

The landslide, which occurred along a section of the road under the national pride project, has halted the movement of both long- and short-distance vehicles.

According to Police Inspector Keshav Thapa of the District Police Office, Baglung, the blockage has affected vehicles traveling from western Baglung to Rolpa, Rukum, Jajarkot, Dolpa, and Gulmi, as well as those heading toward Pokhara and Kathmandu.

“We were informed of the landslide last night and immediately dispatched a police team to the site. However, the road could not be cleared,” said Inspector Thapa.

“Currently, discussions are ongoing with the Highways Office to remove the debris and restore vehicle movement. It may take some time before the road is fully reopened.”
