Biratnagar Kings retains Sandeep Lamichhane as marquee player



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national team leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will once again play for Biratnagar Kings in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament.

Biratnagar Kings confirmed on Saturday via social media that Sandeep has been retained as their marquee player.

Lamichhane was also the captain of Biratnagar Kings during the first season. However, the team’s overall performance was disappointing, finishing seventh out of eight teams with just two wins in seven matches.

For the second season of the NPL, teams are allowed to retain six players besides their marquee player.

A mini-auction is scheduled for August to finalize the squads for the tournament.
