Maoist Centre holds meeting to discuss Supreme Court order against Sapkota

KATHMANDU: The office bearers’ meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) is currently underway at party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s residence in Khumaltar.

According to party sources, the meeting is primarily focused on the Supreme Court’s recent writ of mandamus related to a case filed against party Vice-Chair Agni Prasad Sapkota.

The court’s directive has opened the way for further investigation into Sapkota’s alleged involvement in the conflict-era murder of Arjun Lama in Kavre. The case was filed by Lama’s widow, Purnimaya Lama.

In addition to the court order, the meeting is also discussing the party’s strategy in Parliament concerning the alleged involvement of the Home Minister in the recent visit visa scandal. Another major agenda item is the ongoing debate over the Transitional Justice-related Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) bill.
