PM Oli says India visit unlikely due to scheduling conflicts

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he will not be visiting neighboring India in the near future due to scheduling conflicts.

Speaking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport on his return from Thailand, Oli clarified that although an India visit is not currently on the agenda, it could happen if schedules align.

“We are a bit busy with matters like the Sagarmatha Sambaad,” he said. “If the timing works out, the visit is possible.”

In response to speculation about strained ties, PM Oli dismissed rumors of any restrictions or tensions related to an India visit.

“Has anyone put up barbed wire as is being said outside? That’s not the case,” he said. “Sometimes it’s just a matter of timing, nothing more.”

PM Oli’s comments came following a question about whether he would visit India before the upcoming Sagarmatha Sambaad.
