One dead, three Injured in SUV accident in Baitadi

BAITADI: One person was killed and three others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred in Baitadi district on Friday night.

According to Police Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesperson for Baitadi Police, the deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Chanchal Dayal of Pancheshwor Rural Municipality-5. Dayal died while undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Chanchale.

The accident took place when an SUV (registration number BAC 5659) en route to Giregada from Dehimandau skidded off the road and fell around 40 meters down at Nanigad in Dasharathchand Municipality-11. Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash.

Among the injured are 52-year-old Laliram Koli of Pancheshwor, 35-year-old Rakesh Koli—the jeep driver—and 30-year-old Kabita Pariyar of Dasharathchand Municipality-10. All three are receiving treatment at the District Hospital.

The District Police Office, Baitadi, has launched an investigation into the incident.
