Westerly winds affecting Nepal’s weather



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that westerly winds are currently affecting the country.

The Division has stated that the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with mostly clear skies elsewhere.

Mist and fog have settled in many parts of the Terai.

This afternoon, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.

Light rain is possible in the hilly areas of these provinces, along with light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to mostly clear.

The Division has advised the public to take necessary precautions, as mist and fog may affect parts of the Terai and the Valley, especially in the morning.

This may impact daily life, agriculture, health, transportation, and air travel.
