Sarbendra Khanal quits UML

KATHMANDU: Sarbendra Khanal, a leader of the CPN-UML and former Nepal Police Chief, announced that he has officially quit the party.

Khanal made the announcement via a post on social media platform Facebook, stating that he is no longer affiliated with the UML or any other political party.

He clarified, “I would like to make it clear through this medium that I am not affiliated with any political party at present.”

In his message, Khanal emphasized his continued commitment to bringing those responsible for treasonous acts to justice and his dedication to contributing to the nation’s prosperity.

“I will always fight for the welfare of the country and its people,” he added.

Khanal joined the UML on Asoj 5, 2079 BS. Following his induction into the party, he was nominated as a candidate for the federal parliament in two different constituencies: Kathmandu-6 and Tanahun.

However, he faced defeat in both elections.
