Yomari Punhi festival being observed today



KATHMANDU: The Yomari Punhi (Yomari Purnima) is being celebrated across the country today.

Yomari Punhi, observed mainly by the Newar community in the Kathmandu Valley, is believed to have originated around 400 years ago.

The highlight of the festival is Yomari, a traditional delicacy made from rice flour and filled with molasses. The day is also celebrated as Jyapu Day, honoring the contributions of the Jyapu community.
