SC declines interim order on former NEA chief Shakya’s reinstatement plea

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to issue an interim order on a writ petition filed by former Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya, seeking his reinstatement.

A single bench of Justice Nripadhwaj Niraula, hearing the petition filed on Monday, issued a show-cause order to the government instead.

Shakya had moved the apex court after the Sushila Karki-led government dismissed him from the post of NEA Managing Director following the Gen-Z movement.
