Maoist leader Janardan Sharma to hold press conference against party unification

KATHMANDU: Janardan Sharma, vice-chair of CPN (Maoist Centre) and a critic of the party’s unification with CPN (Unified Socialist), is set to hold a special press conference today.

Sharma will address the media at 2:30 pm at Satkar Café in Bakhundol, Lalitpur, after boycotting the Maoist Centre’s central committee meeting. He has previously declared his separation from Prachanda, stating he will not participate in the ongoing unification process.

Meanwhile, the Maoist Centre’s convention organizing committee is scheduled to meet today at 1 pm at Pragya Pratisthan Hall, Kamaladi, to endorse the unification with the Unified Socialist Party. Sharma has repeatedly opposed this move and called for the unification process to be halted immediately.
