Nepali Congress Central Committee meeting scheduled for today

KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress is taking place today at the party’s central office in Sanepa at 1 p.m.

The meeting, which began on October 14, has been repeatedly postponed due to a lack of consensus between the establishment and dissenting factions over the date of the party’s upcoming General Convention.

According to Party Chief Secretary Krishna Paudel, office bearers, central members, invited members, and presidents of all seven provincial committees have been called to attend.

The establishment faction has prepared a proposal to hold the General Convention in Baisakh, following the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 2026, while the rival faction is pressing for it to be held within December itself.
