Vehicle movement restricted on river corridor roads in Kathmandu Valley from 6 pm to 6 am

KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has requested the suspension of vehicle movement along river and stream corridor roads in Kathmandu Valley from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

In a notice issued today, the Authority urged the district administration offices of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur to impose restrictions, citing heavy to very heavy rainfall occurring across different parts of the country, including the Valley.

The Authority warned that water levels in rivers and streams are expected to rise further overnight, posing increased risks of flooding along corridor roads.

“To minimize potential risks, vehicle movement along river and stream corridor roads in Kathmandu Valley should be restricted from 6:00 pm today until 6:00 am tomorrow as per the decision,” the notice stated.
